Amor, Kærlighed, Liebe, Love
A trio between two dancers and technology.
With foundation in urban loneliness and queer identity, CuntsCollective attacks the western societies romanticized idea of love, and takes a close look at the social norms, gender roles and structures that this recipe of love is created under. We say love is free, but is it?
We live in a society that claims to be free-minded, open to all sexual orientations and gender equality, but still we see the media overloaded with stories of slut-shaming, hate crimes, domestic violence and sexism. When tv-programs like Love Island or Married at first Sight runs over the tv- screens, we follow their search for the only one, and what we see is the search after the perfect, and it can at times seem like that we love the dream higher than the reality . Can these tendencies be seen as a reaktion of feeling insufficient over an ideal that we ourselves have built around love, a expectation and pressure to ourselves and our partners?
This performance challenges the hierarchies, gender roles and ideals surrounding the act of falling in love and to love. We will for a moment imagine a love free of romanticism and the manipulating structures and investigate if it possible to experience love rather that have to live up to it.
Imre Mark Petkov and Naia Binghi has created the primary vision and technological element of the project, which includes, computer-vision, face and motion tracking - combined with projection- mapping and real time visuals.
